XHTML and CSS - Text Areas
Text Areas
In this tutorial we're going to be looking at HTML text areas, a text area is just like a big text field. To use a text area you use the textarea tags, the main attribute we need to use is the name, just like in every other form element.
<html> <head> <title> This is the title. </title> <style type="text/css"> </style> </head> <body> <form> <textarea name="message"></textarea> </form> </body> </html>
There are two other attributes that are useful to use with text area they are rows and cols. Rows stands for the number of rows and cols stands for the number of columns.
<html> <head> <title> This is the title. </title> <style type="text/css"> </style> </head> <body> <form> <textarea name="message" rows="20" cols="20"></textarea> </form> </body> </html>
Now you'll see that the text area is bigger.
